3 Thoughts on Self Development

Whenever we hear this term self development the first thing that comes to mind is working on our personal life. Even though we may know the meaning, how many persons really take the time out to step away from the world’s frustration and constant rush to identify errors that need to be fix and adjustments that need to be rectified? Outlined below are some benefits of self development.

  1. Self Development creates peace of mind. When you are able to identify your purpose, your talents, your passion and goals, I must say that is great. It is important to analyze this properly. When one is able to realize what they are made to be in this life, it opens up their lives to see clarity and directives. Many times persons are only doing something only because is the trendy or profitable. I am not saying that you should not look for a better way out, I am wondering if you take the time out to think and identify what you are called to do. Only God knows the answers to your future, while we are clueless to what will happen the next minute. What Self development does is aligned your mindset to achieve greatness and fulfill your live given purpose.
  2. Self Development defeats comparison. This cannot be stress on no more. This is something that most if not everyone have encountered in some way. Sometimes you might not realize this because plenty of times we are trapped in playing the image of someone else. I believe comparison has stages. First it appears as entertainment, then entertainment becomes addictive that you end up becoming complacent and when you realize you find that you are diluted and swallowed up in distractions. The more we attract ourselves to something, the more of it we become, therefore, we pretend to be like it, not realizing. We have lost sight of our identity and we crave for more because we are just never satisfy. We scroll our media pages and fill our lives with everything that we can find, trying to be someone we are not. This is my theory of Comparison. When you step away from comparison, it is important self development strategies be implemented. Likewise, if you remove something, its good if can replace it with something better. Something that well bring life-long peace and growth.
  3. When you are finding and understanding yourself, you will know the decision that’s best for you. You will make the right choice. Self development is not just about getting the right job or qualifications but it also includes the type of friends you have, the places you go, the type of content you watch and the music you listen to. Self development has everything to do with you, the character and lifestyle. Understand that everything that you add to yourself is either destroying or benefiting you, so it is important to identify everyday activities and routines to know what basically add value to your character growth. This is not something that should be done in the next five years or ten years. It is something that can be done now. The earlier the better. Your character is important for that’s what determines your altitude. Align your mindset with what helps you to grow but be patient with yourself at the same time. No need to rush. Self development takes times.

The younger you are the more opportunities you have which simply means the older you get the more you run out of options. Start making the right choice for you today.
